How to study a chart without fooling yourself
2 April 2026 · 7 min read
Scrolling back through a chart, every breakout looks clean. In real time, the same bar sits at the right edge with no future visible.
Replay-style study — covering the right side of the chart and revealing one bar at a time — is the cheapest way to test whether a pattern is actually tradeable for you.
Write the decision down before revealing the next bar. Without a record, memory rewrites your judgement to match the outcome.
This is educational practice, not a signal generation method, and past chart behaviour does not repeat reliably.
